ABOUT Cameos and Crowns: Husbands and wives can work together! Well, what started as Lynette’s project and a little shop in Seattle has recently turned into a dream come true. In April of 2012 Lynette decided to add her own line of Flour Sack Towels to her shop with designs of her own. After just 4 short months her husband Marc was able to leave his job and come work along side her full time. It has changed their lives and the life of the entire family. Marc was in the restaurant business and was rarely home for dinner or weekends or really for anything at all. Not that they don’t work their tails off now but at least they can spend more time with their two teenagers and cute little Scottie Coco. Their business has let them be a family again and for that they thank you tremendously for your support of their business. They love to encourage others to go for their dream, work hard and believe.
I love creating. If I am not creating I feel as if my soul is dying. I also love business and my favorite is to combine the two. Years ago I loved candles (still do), I started making them in my kitchen and it led me to start my first company, Illume Candles. It started with my love of fragrance and light and grew into a manufacturing business with over 125 employees and accounts around the world. I eventually sold Illume and made jewelry for awhile – it was nice, it was just me. I sold my pieces to some stores in Los Angeles and enjoyed the process very much. I eventually started making body care products at home – soaps, creams, bath salts, lip balms etc and then started another company Izzy Sayan Perfume. It was a wonderful success in the magazines and was even carried by Fred Segal in Los Angeles and Henri Bendel in NY but after 9/11 it was financially too hard to keep going and I had to close it. I then started taking painting classes but am just not good enough to sell them! Eventually I opened another boutique – Frockx, this time high end women’s clothing. This was a tough business for me as the creative side was not really there and I really am not THAT into fashion. I sold the shop and it still continues today. I decided I would not have another business, but rather focus on my family and find creative outlets to keep me satisfied. I told one friend I will have another business “When Pigs Fly” Well, I guess Pigs must Fly because there went another business – a lovely little organic herb and salt co. I also had a very sweet little shop called Cameos & Crowns in Seattle. I sold all sorts of pretty and fragrant things along with a quite nice selection of letterpress cards. I became so intrigued with the images on the cards that it led me to designing my own line of flour sack towels. Now, we’ve added beautiful linen pillows, cosmetic bags and aprons. And that’s the whole nutshell.
